In-Person Worship FAQs

Thank you for helping Trinity make in-person worship a safe and positive experience for all. Below are some frequently asked questions about in-person and indoor worship. If you have other questions, please contact the church office at 952-955-1891 or trinityoffice@trin.org.

How will you be screening people as they arrive? Will you take temperature checks?

We ask that worshipers pre-screen themselves using the wellness screening provided. The screening information will also be posted prior to entering the building. We will not be conducting temperature checks.

I’ve been vaccinated. Do I still need to follow protocols?

To stay consistent with our safety protocols, we ask everyone to follow them.

Do I really need to wear a mask?

Minnesota Executive Order 20-81 requires all people to wear face coverings while indoors. Wearing a mask over your nose and mouth keeps respiratory droplets from spreading. Please wear a mask anytime you are in the building.

At what age are masks required for children?

We support the CDC’s recommendation that any child 2 years of age or older should properly wear a mask.

If I don’t get in before registration is full, can I be added to a waiting list or get priority for the next indoor Sunday?

If the indoor service is full, you may request to be added to a waiting list by contacting the church office at 952-955-1891 or trinityoffice@trin.org. Arrangements can be made for priority registration on a future indoor Sunday if needed.

If I’m not registered, may I still attend?

At this time registration is required because seating is pre-determined and limited. If full capacity for a service is not reached, you can register up until 8:00 am Sunday.

What will the worship service be like?

The Sunday service will be led by Pastor Engholm and various Trinity musicians. Holy Communion will be offered every Sunday, in a modified manner. To comply with CDC recommendations, there will be no group singing.

Will there be a passing of the peace?

We will continue to share God’s peace during worship with our SWAG – smile, wave and greet each other in non-contact ways.

What if someone tries to hug me or shake my hand?

Worshipers will be reminded to refrain from physical contact. Your non-verbal cues, such as keeping your hands at your sides, will serve as a reminder to others not to use physical contact.

How will communion work?

Holy Communion will be celebrated each week. Worshipers will be invited to pick up the bread and grape juice in a prepackaged container upon entering the Worship Center when indoors or before finding a seat outdoors. Worshipers will receive communion from their seats during the worship service.

Can I use the hearing assist devices?

Yes. You may pick them up from the counter in the Narthex before you enter the sanctuary for indoor worship.

Will baptisms take place during worship?

All baptisms will continue to be scheduled at other times.

Is childcare available during worship?

Not at this time. Childcare will be made available at a further phase of the building reopening plan.

I have always parked at a certain spot and come in a certain door. Can I still do that?

Yes, we will have all of the regular entrances open on Sunday mornings. You may be asked to wait for a short time in the Gathering Hall if there are a larger number of people waiting in the Narthex to be seated. You will check in with the Worship Shepherd at the check-in table to verify your reservation and then be ushered to a designated seat for worship.

Will restrooms be available?

Yes, the restrooms on the main level will be available. We ask that only two individuals or one family enter at a time.

Will the church office be open?

Our office hours are Monday - Friday, 9:00 am – 12:00pm. Voicemails after hours will be responded to as soon as possible.

Will there be treats offered during Coffee Hour?

We will not be offering food at our outdoor coffee hour. Coffee and water will be available. Please do not bring food or drink into the building at this time.

Can my small group/ministry meet in the building?

Currently, small groups of 30 or less can meet in the Fellowship Hall and groups of 15 or less can meet in the Nylunda Chapel, following social distance and mask requirements. Please contact the church office for details or to reserve either of these spaces for your Trinity small group.

What if it’s raining on an outdoor worship Sunday?

In case of inclement weather, outdoor worship and outdoor coffee will be cancelled. You are invited to worship online on those Sundays. Check the Trinity website by 8:00 am on Sunday morning for cancellation announcements.

How early can I arrive for worship?

We ask that you arrive no earlier than 20 minutes before the service begins. You will be asked to check in to verify your reservation and then you will be seated by one of our Worship Shepherds.
