For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Reaching out to others and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of the foundations of Christianity. We are to be a light unto the world. We are called as Christ's disciples to share the Good News with all of His people. At Trinity, we are committed to fulfilling this call and we reach out to others locally, regionally and globally in Christ's name.
Trinity strives to create a welcoming environment and we hope that everyone who walks through our doors feels welcomed and spiritually fed by God’s Word, both spoken and sung. Friendship Sundays, where members are encouraged to invite a friend to church, New Member Receptions and various church events throughout the year, help us to create this feeling.
We also want to share this feeling with those who cannot make it to our building. Our pastoral staff participates in Devotional Services at the Watertown assisted living and care facilities and we have a Shut-in/Homebound Visitation Program that provides visits and communion distribution by lay members of the congregation to members that have difficulties leaving their homes. Our Quilting Ministry and our Prayer Chain are also ways that we spread God's love to those around us.
We support many local organizations including Love INC Heartland, MN Food Share, and Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota. The Outreach Team at Trinity also seeks new ways to invite members of our community to our church. We plan various community events throughout the year for people of all ages in hopes they feel welcomed at Trinity and are able to feel Christ's presence in their lives through their time with us.
On a global level, our congregation supports ELCA Missionaries Rev. Philip & Lou Marie Knutson in South Africa and Rev. Elisabeth Johnson in Cameroon. Together with other churches, our financial support enables them to do God's work around the world. You can find more information about our missionaries on our SERVE page.
Through the ELCA Relief and Development program, Trinity supports the fights against malaria and hunger in developing countries, and toward the effort to provide clean drinking water around the world. In Jesus Christ's name, we reach out to our neighbors, near and far.
