If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but
has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.
1 John 3:17-18
We are encouraged to live out the compassion of Christ in the world around us. Trinity supports local organizations and participates in events each year that improve our community and provide for those in need in Watertown and the surrounding area. We continue to seek out ministry opportunities where we can make a positive difference.
Trinity's Social Ministry Partnerships and Events
Love INC Heartland - Trinity Lutheran Church is a partner congregation with Love INC Heartland (Love in the Name of Christ). Love INC is a network of churches that links people in need with resources for food, clothing, furniture and other needs.
Crow River Clean Up Day - Trinity has been participating in Crow River Clean Up Day since 2013. We coordinate volunteers to pick up litter along the banks of the Crow River in Watertown on one day each fall.
Friends for Life Food Shelf - We support our community's food shelf with donations of food, personal care items and monetary gifts. Approximately 1,412 pounds of food and items were donated to the Friends for Life FoodShelf from Trinity in 2014. We promote special giving drives throughout the year, including Yams for Thanksgiving meal baskets, Noodles for our Neighbors Drive and A Super-Duper Cereal Drive.
Adopt-A-Family Christmas Gift Project - Through partnerships with the local school district and the food shelf, Trinity members and friends can fulfill Christmas wish lists for local families and children.
Operation Christmas Child Shoebox - One of our global ministry opportunities fills shoeboxes with school supplies, personal care items, and small gifts for children in various countries around the world for Christmas.
Trinity Lutheran Church supports our local community through Friends For Life Food Shelf, Love INC Heartland, CROW River Clean Up and through local Adopt-a-Family programs. We support our larger community through Lutheran Social Service and Green Lake Ministries. Our global support is through the ELCA Synod and with the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Ministry.
